Daniel Dorn: Your Pioneer League Batting Champion

The Rookie level Pioneer League regular season ended last night. Today, atop the statistics, is 22 year old Daniel Dorn with a .354 batting average.

In 60 games with Billings, Dorn hit 8 HRs, had a .457 OBP, and a .573 slugging percentage(league leading). His OPS was a huge 1.030, which also led the Pioneer League. This is a great Reds prospect, a lefty outfielder that can really hit. The only problem Dorn has is hitting left handed pitching; vs. lefties he hit .182, vs righties he hit .392. Dorn's splits are HERE.

The Pioneer League stats are available HERE. Interesting to note that the Reds affiliate, Billings Mustangs, had 4 of the top 11 hitters in the 8 team Pioneer League.(Dorn, Justin Turner, Logan Parker, and Chris Valaika)
