Few Reds transactions 10/9
A few Reds elected free agency today:
RHP Sun-Woo Kim RHP Joe Mays LHP Chris Michalak C Dane Sardinha 1B/OF Andy Abad OF Dewayne Wise Well, at least Sardinha HAD a major league contract at one time. When he was 17 and hadn't played an at-bat or half-inning in the minors yet. Really sad day to see Kim, Mays and Michalak go. Sad for NL rival teams, that is. |

I guess Sardinha isn't the catcher of the future....

Oh, and I figured this would be a good time as any to point out a Brewers transaction I noticed on rotoworld.com: Brewers re-signed RHP Joe Valentine to a minor league contract. First Balfour, and Valentine too? DanO influence must be strong in Milwaukee. |

I am sure Dan0 is watching the Reds' transaction wire like a kid outside a candy store. Too bad for us he does not make the majority of decisions for the Brewers.

Re: Few Reds transactions 10/9
I like the scrappiness of filing for free agency a couple of weeks after passing through waivers. It has a certain "Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead" flavor.
