Most missed poster
I really miss Cougarquest, Letsgojunior, Larkinfan, GeoJ, Stormy, Steve4192 and Creek... they were staples of the board and always a must read. Some check in from time to time, but not enough for my tastes. Best Moniker Corkedbat, Spitball, Boobhat, ScrapIrony…. These names crack me up Most Valuable Poster It’s really impossible to say who’s the most valuable. WOY, M2, Steel…. Those guys did most of the heavy lifting here this past year. But Cyclone kicked it into a higher gear and was always there with brilliant statistical analysis and very sharp observation. He gets my vote this year. Most Clever Redsland and BCubb. Those two guys should consider getting a job where they have to write, and stuff. They both slay me, over and over again. Best Armchair GM Cincinnati Chili, Team Clark, Princeton, and Doc Scott. Love what they bring to the forum. Best Trademeister Doc Scott. Really a fine baseball mind. His blog is awesome, btw. Best Discussion The trade. We beat it to death, up one side and down the other. But at least every possible viewpoint was ‘cussed and discussed. Funniest Puffy, Red Leader, J McLain, Pedro, Wheels.. Not funny “ha ha”. Just funny. : Best Use of Statistics Cyclone and WOY. Best balanced use of stats on the board. Most Long-winded My good buddy GAC thinks he's getting paid by the word. Most Positive SuperBarry11, The teamsters, Sandy... great people Most Negative FCB wins this award every year. His passion for the game runs deep, and he isn't afraid to show his displeasure for what's going on. We need guys like this. He likes to act all tough, but he's really a very fine man who does a lot in his community. Someday, hopefully, the Reds will live up to the standards he expects and demands. Oh, wait..... they already did once, back in 1869. Best Use of an Emoticon Krono. Hope all is well, buddy. Nicest Sandy, Team Casey, Team Morris, Team Boone, Superbarry11, Vaticanplum, RedsBaron, GAC. What a fine group of people. Best Moderator I appreciate them all. They take a lot of crap with no reward. Most Off-Topic Every now and then a thread takes a wacky turn. Right now we have Vaticanplum trying to research architecture and being hijacked by flashbacks to Burger Chef. Talk about disjointed...and it's still an outstanding thread. Best Newcomer Vaticanplum blazed onto the scene with a passion and intensity that made many fans this year. She's got a broad range of interests, and always has something valuable to contribute. If she keeps up this pace, she will own the board very soon. Best Outsider MattyMo and Ramp The Marty Brennamen Award Caveat is the man. Best Chatter GAC is master of his domain. The Old Red Guard Award "How to identify Redszoners in public" by JMcLain. I don't know what year it was posted, but it is money, baby. Best Historian WOY gets my vote as the most accomplished historian here, among many worthy candidates. Every year he takes it to another level. His website is incredible. Anyone who hasn't checked it out is really missing something. He has the ability to put things in perspective with common sense, intelligence, and a scary warehouse of knowledge about the game we love. Lifetime Achievement Award Team Clark, Randy in Charlotte, RedsBaron, Ochre, Roy Tucker, GAC and MWM. I always look for everything any of these guys post. Most Tired Topic of the Year All the different flavors of "Dunn Sucks... Dunn is great" I'm really sick of it all.

Re: Fifth Annual Redszone Postees Awards
Being from Houston this board is my main source of information on my favorite professional sports team. Even during the slow times of the baseball season there are always posts on this board that stop and make me think. I especially enjoy reading posts about the Reds' minor league system, because to me prospects equal hope. So I want to say thanks to the many fine posters concerning the Reds' farm system. In particular major props to DougDirt.

Re: Fifth Annual Redszone Postees Awards
Most missed poster
I really miss Creek, CougarQuest, and lately Krono. Best Moniker Boobhat and Javy Pornstache and the ultimate for me. Both are absolutely genius inventions for names and make me laugh like a 12 year old looking at a "dirty" magazine everytime I see them . Most Valuable Poster So many. WOY, M2, Cyclone, dougdirt, OnBaseMachine, Steel, Doc Scott, Caveat Emporer, dabvu, registerthis, vaticanplum...I could go on for awhile. Lots of knowledgeable posters have displayed their knowledge over the last year. But, if I had to choose one, like others have mentioned, Cyclone was "the man" this year. Tons of useful stats and explanations as to what they show and how they are relevant for analyzing whatever was being discussed. Most Clever Redsland and Natty Redlocks. Redsland, the stuff you post is gold. Natty, your song lyrics have been an absolute wonderful addition to Redszone for me. Best Armchair GM M2 and Doc Scott. Incredibile knowledge of everyone's teams, their strengths, weaknesses, their farm systems, who's overrated / underrated. I'm amazed by the information these guys hold in their noggin. Best Trademeister Move over, Krusty. Although he hasn't passed you in pure volume (who could?), I like the deals RedEye has proposed this year. All of them make sense and are realistic in nature. Best Discussion The Draft, and the Redszone draft. I've never been more prepared for a draft in my life thanks to all of the discussion and knowledge that was typed in those threads. The Minor League forum has been a huge success, IMO. These two threads are two shining examples of why that was. Funniest Puffy. Hands down. One of the funniest people I've ever come in contact with. This award should be re-named the Puffy Award. The quick-wit he displays along with the intelligence behind it, is priceless. I can't tell you the number of times people I work with have looked at me while I explode in laughter at one of his posts. Thanks, Puffy. Best Use of Statistics Agree with '62. Cyclone and WOY. Best balanced use of stats on the board. Most Long-winded GAC wins the award by default. Most Positive SandyD and vaticanplum get this award. They are both just happy people whose positive aura spills out onto the board when they post making you feel the joy that they possess.. Most Negative FallsCityBeer. No competitiion, but that's not a bad thing all of the time. I enjoy your posts. Best Use of an Emoticon Krono. Another repeater. Krono's use of emoticons is unmatched. Nicest Sandy, Vaticanplum, Puffy, RFS62 are real good, nice people, but this award goes to Roy Tucker for me. Roy, the help you gave me this year will never be forgotten. I owe you big time. Thank you so much for your advice and wisdom. I'll never know how to thank you enough. It's funny how, if you spend enough time on these boards, some of these people almost feel like family to you. I'd say Roy is my 2nd Dad. Best Moderator paintmered. Worst moderator Me. I'll try to pick up the slack this coming year. For those that didn't know, I was appointed the moderator of the Minor League forum and there were problably 5-10 posters that spent more time in there than me. I promise, I'll do better next year. Best Newcomer Agree with '62 again: Vaticanplum. There was some pretty stiff competition this year as a lot of new posters were excellent additions, but vaticanplum was, IMO, the best. Best Outsider MattyMo The Old Red Guard Award "The trade" threads. Excellent discussions. Best Historian WOY. I don't know how he does it, but every year he gets better. I'm simply blown away with his knowledge. Lifetime Achievement Award Roy Tucker. I think I nominated M2, WOY, and '62 last year. This year Roy Tucker joins the "elite" for me. Most Tired Topic of the Year Adam Dunn. I'd like to thank everyone on the board, especially those of you who contributed countless posts to the Minor League forum this year, as well as Boss and GIK. Another awesome year of Redszone.

Re: Fifth Annual Redszone Postees Awards
I'm still wet behind the ears here, so I'm not going to vote on anything or anyone.
I just wanted to say that this is a tremendous place, a great resource for Reds fans, and fans of baseball in general. Thank you so much for those who run this board, and I would urge anyone who uses this board regularly to go and donate, so this resource remains as it is. I thought I was a hard core baseball fan, until I "met" others on here, people who really do know the game in far more depth than me. Sometimes I come here and just read and learn, and on other days I participate more often, but I usually come here nearly every single day. My eyes have been truly opened to what statistical analysis can tell you (which is much more than I ever dreamed it could) and what it cannot do- predict the future accurately. I absolutely love the diversity of opinion here. If we all agreed on how to improve the Redlegs, then this would be a boring place! Sometimes I shake my head, often I laugh at the great humor, but I am never bored, and I always learn. This place is a treasure, I'm glad I found it, and look forward to participating for years to come!
