Building a Wiki? (software query)
I'm looking for a solution to critiquing a application that was developed in HTML.
Scenario: End Users look at site and need to make notes about what changes or questions they have. Similar to using the "note" function in MS Word If any of you know a way that I can achieve this online then throw me that suggestion, currently the best scenario I can come up with is creating a wiki site to host the notes. BTW this application will be running on the users machines for the critique, not the web. |

Re: Building a Wiki? (software query)
If you are planning on having the software on the local users machine then you really can't use a wiki as every user would have to have a web server running locally.
you'll probably have to have a small windows app that they can enter the questions/issues into with a feature to upload to a central DB. if they want to pay for it I could do it.

Re: Building a Wiki? (software query)
looks cool, the problem with that is how would you collate the comments from multiple users into a central repository?

I know, I was just being a wise guy. The devil is in the details. Looking at that web site, it looks like they run it as a service which might be problematic. Wonder if they sell it as a product? Oh well, it's a start.

Re: Building a Wiki? (software query)
They store it on their site, I see they are working on consolidating notes to be shared. But as of now, that's not the biggest problem. The problem was trying to get an online version to be edited, to avoid printing out a zillion paper items.

Re: Building a Wiki? (software query)
A good CMS might be an option, one that supports the use of registered user notes. dunno if this is what you need or if it is totally off base, but phpwebsite is pretty good in this regard.
