18 usually is a par hole.
Pin placement is in the back of the green, a little left of center and tucked nicely on the top tier over the frontside bunker.

Follow this link: http://www.masters.org/en_US/course/index.html

Click on the hole you are interested in and then click on pin placement at the bottom right to see pin placements for each round.

That's a pretty accessible pin today @ 18.

I would venture a guess that not a lot of guys are taking enough stick to get it back there though.

Re: The Masters - Discussion thread

I'm guessing they are either getting stuck in the bunker in front of the flag, or they are flying over the green.

Unless they are Phil, and they hit it into the patrons short, left of the green....

Justin Rose: Mr. Thursday/Friday at Augusta...

Is Tiger playing today? Haven't seen him...

Yeah he's plus 1 through 10. And he's in the woods on 11.

Yeah, everybody has to play today. It's the first round for everybody, even Tiger.

Tiger is +1 through 10.

Phil finished at +4.
Els finished at +6.

Re: The Masters - Discussion thread

And he just made a great shot out of the pine straw with a slight fade around a tree to 15-20 ft of the pin.

Re: The Masters - Discussion thread

Tiger missed his 20 ft birdie putt, but dropped the par putt.

He's still +1, through 11 now.

Nice to see rose at the top. Woods well placed though. Wouldn't back against him the way he's playing.

Re: The Masters - Discussion thread

What an incredible Cinderella story. This unknown comes outta nowhere to lead the pack, at Augusta. He's on his final hole, he's about 455 yards away. He's gonna hit about a two-iron, I think.

Oh he got all of that one!

The crowd is standing on its feet here. The normally reserved Augusta crowd going wild for this young Cinderella. He's come outta nowhere, he's got about 350 yards left, he's gonna hit about a five-iron, don't you think?

He's got a beautiful backswing. That's ...

Oh he got all of that one!

He's gotta be pleased with that. The crowd is just on its feet here. He's the Cinderella boy, tears in his eyes I guess as he lines up this last shot. He's got about 195 yards left, he's got about a - its looks like he's got about an eight-iron.

This crowd has gone deathly silent, the Cinderella story, outta nowhere, a former greenskeeper now - about to become the Masters champion. It looks like a miraculous ...

It's in the hole! It's in the hole!
