04/19/07 minors game thread

I missed the top of the first for the Louisville game there was a walk and a caught stealing for the Bats.

bottom of the 1st
shearn strikes out harris for the first out.
blanco up next and lifts an ez fly ball to dewayne wise in centerfield.
prado grounds to machado but his throw is wide and votto can't stay on the bag. (throwing error though radio announcer thinks votto should have stayed on the bag)
prado steals second as conway cant get the pitch out of his glove.
escobar grounds out to machado.

end of 1 no score.

*side note: leon roberts who worked in the Reds' organization is now coaching with the richmond braves.

We can probably get a moderator to merge the two since we started them within about 15 seconds of eachother.

Re: 4/19/2007 Minor League Game update

top of the 3rd bats up:

machado works a leadoff walk.
conway chops to 3rd and is thrown out. machado moves up to second.
shearn's batting mentor must be aaron harang as the announcer says he takes some less-than-admirable cuts at the plate and strikes out on 3 pitches.
tyrell godwin thrown out on a broken bat slow roller to third.

after 2.5 still no score

the pitcher also swings on the first pitch and flies out to wise in shallow center. 2 pitches. 2 down.
leadoff hitter harris line-drive to center. first hit of the game for either side.

Re: 4/19/2007 Minor League Game update

Top 5. Time for the Bats to come alive with no score in Richmond.

D. Wise leads off spanking a gapper to left-center that rolls to wall and motors into third. First hit of the game for Louisville. Yay! Wild pitch brings in the first run of the game. 1-0 Louisville.
Snyder draws a walk. Caught stealing on a failed hit and run. 1 down.
machado takes a called third strike. 2 down.
Conway flies to right.

4.5 in the book. Louisville leads 1-0.

*side note:Richmond Braves wore the VTech hats during a game and the caps are going to be auctioned off at www.rbraves.com with the money going to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund if anyone is interested.
