Re: 90s music?
Yo La Tengo, Sebadoh, Stereolab, Low, Spiritualized - all built on their 80s roots. The 80s indie scene was a special time (for me at least) when innovation and creativity were not tethered to commerce.
For me the 90s will be remembered for the incredible compositions that came from artsits now classified as IDM - Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards of Canada, Richie Hawtin, etc. T |

Re: 90s music?
Neutral Milk Hotel hasn't been mentioned yet I don't think. The best the mid 90's had to offer.

Re: 90s music?
"There's nothing wrong with love" and "Keep it like a secret" are great albums too.

Re: 90s music?
I quite like "Ancient Melodies ..." myself. The new one not so much, although that stuff was great live.

Re: 90s music?
Between high school and college (2001), aside from the artists already mentioned, I started listening to the White Stripes, Built to Spill, the Strokes, Hefner, the Shins, Muse, Of Montreal (and anything on Elephant Six Records), Snow Patrol, Peaches, Sparklehorse, Quasi, and Rufus Wainwright. Those were great times. I think Snow Patrol is the only band of those listed of which I'm not a fan anymore.

Sparklehorse is one weird ride, good live too.
