Jukich has some on strong since an awful start. Good to see Valaika with a pair of hits.

Chattanooga starts at 8:05

Sarasota just began. Jukich is on the mound.

Dayton is up 2-0 in the 1st. Turner, Heisey, Phipps are all 1-1.

Billings is later as well at 9pm.

GCL Reds were suspended in the 4th and down 2-1.
I believe we could have both Livingston and Dumatrait on the Reds while Bailey is toiling in AAA. At least for now.

Dumatrait should be here when/if Lohse is traded in the next 9 days.

I think its crazy how down people are on Bailey after a few starts. Dumatrait needs to move to the bullpen.

I don't know about that. I'm not big on taking a guy who started through his whole minor league career and putting him in the pen to start his major league career. If Lohse is traded, and he will be, I'd give Dumatrait a few starts and if he does not do well I'd put him in the pen.

I think he will be but what would we get more out of, the return of a trade of Lohse or a draft pick?

hard to say...depends how much interest there is in Loshe right now...if not much, then the draft pick is the way to go

You only get a draft pick if you offer tham arbitration.

I don't want to risk arbitration with Lohse.

Re: 7.21.07 Minor League Updates

We may not even get a draft pick for Lohse. His stats from last season really are going to help push him out of the comp. status.

Unless something changes that I am not aware of (and that could very well be) I didn't think you could trade players for future draft picks. So I guess that makes DD right, no future draft choice for Lohse.

Not trying to be a jack a$$, so correct me if I am wrong on this.

He was more referring to offering him arbitration, he would obviously decline, and the Reds would then get compensatory draft picks for losing a free agent. Problem is, there is a big question mark about whether or not Lohse would fall into that type of free agent because of his horrible numbers last year and the process takes your last 3 seasons worth of stats.
