If Al Reyes was almost traded for JEFF CLEMENT...

Then why didn't Krivsky step in and get him for Weathers?!

Either Wayne Krivsky is a moron or Pete Mackianin is a moron because he told Wayne not to trade anyone because he can turn it around. thumbdownthumbdown

Pete Mackanin is an interim manager. I don't think any GM is going to "be told" who or who not to trade by the manager. Castellini is number one then Krivsky, I'm not sure where a manager's insight comes into play. I think any good gm would listen to the likes of scouts and evaluators managers included, but its the gm's job to make the decisions.

I would rather have Reyes than Weathers, so I doubt that the Mariners would offer the same for Weathers as they did for Reyes.

The Devil Rays wanted Clement but the Mariners wouldn't give him up for Reyes and/or Wheeler. I can guarantee that WK would have given up Weathers for Clement in a second if he had been given the chance.
