I think they'll pick up Hatteberg's option and deal Votto for a soft-tossing relief pitcher.

Not unless he comes back and signs with someone else after we offer him arbitration. None of which seems likely. Even then, I don't know if he would qualify as a free agent who would get you compensation.

Well I'd trade him for anything then, PTBNL, cash considerations. Just get something for him.

Bruce is having a solid night. He's 1-for-2 with a double and a walk against a tough lefty in Andy Sisco. That is Bruce's 37th double of the year and 64th extra-base hit, which surpasses his total of 63 last year.
