Cantu has been on fire since coming over. Another double.

I wonder where we're going to play him?

Maybe a platoon with Votto at first? Maybe just have him be a utility guy.

Cantu hits righties better then lefties.

Well get him up here, let him drill righties for a month and a half and trade him for a #3 starter in the offseason. We need another starter and I don't like what I see in the free agent market.

It's not that easy, and what tells you he will mash anything?

I'd rather give him a chance and see if he does mash than watch Conine play.

Pelland faced one batter and struck him out. McBeth threw a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout.

Todd Frazier is 0-for-1 with two walks, giving him three consecutive two-walk games.

Your right. But I'd like to see Cantu get some at bats somehow just to see if 2005 wasn't a complete fluke.

Re: 8/2/2007 Minor League Updates

After hitting .310/.386/.434 in the GCL this season, the Reds promoted Justin Reed to Billings and he PH tonight and hit a 2-run HR in his first and only atbat for Billings. Not a bad way to start. Reed has really played well this season. He's got the ability to take a walk to go along with his great speed, making him someone worth watching IMO.

I am sure there will be many people suggest he play third base; It's not like we have an entrenched player there. Edwin has not made the most of his opportunities.

Awesome! Justin Reed is someone I am really beginning to get interested in following.
