Moeller to Dodgers

Woo hoo.

Quote:
Dodgers acquired catcher Chad Moeller from the Reds for cash considerations.

$1. Moeller likely will act as the Dodgers' No. 3 catcher in September. There shouldn't be any room for him before then.

Re: Moeller to Dodgers

That begs trhe question.

What to do with the $1?

Perhaps we should use it to sign Royce Clayton.

With the balance used for a good cup of java.

Minor leaguenbaseball.com shows Moeller in the line-up for Louisville tonight. What's up?

How much did we have to pay LA to take him?

If you believe all the reports, and all the previous posts, we got $1.

Put it toward Dunn's option

Re: Moeller to Dodgers

I'm just flat out amazed that he made it through waivers.

I wonder if Wayne accidentally claimed him.

I'm guessing it's one of two things:

1.Moeller will play for 2 teams;

2.Minorleague baseball hasn't immediately updated its lineup based on a pretty meaningless transaction.

I'm guessing that #2 looks right.

Re: Moeller to Dodgers

If Moeller was really sold for one dollar, I'm guessing Wayne went to the Dodgers and said, "We have no use for Chad Moeller due to our catching situation at the Major and Minor League levels. I don't think we're allowed to just give away players, so in exchange for Moeller, how about you give me a dollar, and I'll buy you a soda pop some time?"

I believe the $1 figure was a joke on edabbs44's part. There is no mention of a dollar figure on Trent's blog, nor Fay's. Also, edabbs44 has a laughing emoticon in his post.

Moeller with a $700K salary. Wonder if the Dodgers took it over. Saves the Reds about $200K if so. Maybe they can use it to help sign a draft pick before the 15th.

I think the joke originated from RotoWorld. That's what they actually wrote. I don't know if it was meant to be serious as they are known to be pretty sarcastic.
