Come and join me at The Blue Note

Just a place to drown your sorrows...here's what my starting team looked like for Week 1:

Peyton Manning
Steven Jackson
Deuce McAllister
Andre Johnson
Reggie Wayne
Vernon Davis
Jason Hanson
Ravens D

Looked a lot better at the time...now, with Disaster Deuce on bye next week, my starting backfield will be Marshawn and Kevin Jones vs Chicago.

Deuce needs to get me 11 points tonight (1 point so far) or else I'l be 1-2 and staring 1-3 directly in the face.

Who else needs to cry about their team? Pull up a stool and vent.

As I'm sure you are aware, Mr. Duece has gone to the locker room with pain in his bad knee.

Good luck getting those 10 points in the 2nd half.

Looked pretty good right out of the draft, huh?

Now Jackson's gonna miss time. Been bad either way.
Deuce's gonna miss time (maybe), not sure how much it would have mattered either way after watching the Saints. (I've got Deuce also.)
Vernon Davis is gonna miss time.
Is Andre Johnson back next week?

Sucks the way it works out sometimes.

Yup, I was in the same boat last night. Needed about 13 from Deuce and got .5. Now I'm looking at my bench and see Chester Taylor sitting there...err...laying there in what looks to be a body cast.

This is why my friends and I refer to it as "EFFball".

I needed 11 from Deuce and of course did not reach that number. You combine him with Reggie Brown and the injured DJ Hackett and my team is pretty miserable. Luckily, the Minnesota defense was a scoring machine the first two weeks and helped we win despite little contribution from those two.

I am 0-3 in all 3 of the leagues I'm in.

ACL tears usually do that to you.

Might be dealing for Benson right now. It has reached desperation status.

I can survive without Deuce (he wasn't giving me anything anyway) but I'll need Cadillac and Gore to step up. I'd like to swing a deal for another RB or WR to fill the flex position but with only two decent RBs and not much at the receiver position I really don't have anything to offer.

Fantasy football is mostly luck. Draft well is all you can do and hope nobody gets injured. If one of your studs goes down, so do you.

Paying to play sucks too.

Every pay league I do, I suck. Every free league I do, I'm halfway decent or league champion.

Re: Come and join me at The Blue Note

This is the first year when I haven't been singing the blues after the first few games. I'm 3-0 in one money league and 2-1 in the other. The only thing I can complain about is that my one loss came down to a tiebreaker -- I thought I had the game won easily, but a computer glitch had prevented his kicker's points from being added to his score. His kicker scored 12 points that week, so we ended up tying, and his bench outscored my bench, so I took the loss. He's 3-0 now, and I'm 2-1. Boo hoo.

This year has me convinced more than ever that fantasy football is nothing but a crapshoot.

And now Cadillac is down with what looks like a nasty injury. I picked up Dominic Rhodes when I saw Jordan get hurt but I'm looking terribly thin at RB. To make matters worse Gore has been awful so far this year.

Back in '04, my team was bitten by the injury bug so bad that I renamed my team Injured Reserve and subsequently adopted a new logo:

That's one reason I stick to the free leagues.
