Kevin Goldstein on the Reds Top Prospects, listen online

KG of BP will be on Lance McAllisters show today (3-6pm sometime) talking about the Reds prospects. Just thought it would be something you guys would be interested in.

You can listen online if you aren't in the Cincinnati area.

www.1530homer.com and just click on the 'listen live' link on the front page. When the show starts hopefully we will get a better idea of when KG will be on.

Lance also podcasts his interviews, so if and when he puts that up, we will likely be able to listen to it later on if anyone missed it.

Ok, sounds like it will happen in the second half of the three o'clock hour. So sometime between 3:30 and 4.

This is now available online to listen to if you missed it. Just go to http://www.1530homer.com/pages/lancesBlog.html and on the left side of the page about a third of the way down is a 'Audio: Latest Interviews' section and you can stream the interview through there.

Couple of hopeful conjectures from Goldstein:

He thinks Votto can make an all-star team or two down the line.

Likes the Hamilton-Volquez deal for the Reds.

That's what stuck out to me too. He was rather emphatic in saying he'd much rather have Volquez than Hamilton, and Hamilton's a guy that just got done OPSing .922 his rookie year.

I know not all prospects pan out, but just listening to guys who track minor leaguers for a living rave about our prospects has me downright giddy about the future of the Reds. I mean they have the potential to be scary good in as little as a year or two, and to stay good for a long time.
