Re: NL only dynasty league
Basecloggers,
I was hoping to snag Lyon a couple rounds after you took him. I didn't think anybody would see him in the player list because his O-rank is so low. He was a very good pick. |

Re: NL only dynasty league
I'm going with the Wily Mo logic, if you hit alot of homers, and with lots of power in limited ABs you will hit close to the same ratio next year. That would put him at 33 homers in just over 500 at bats. I don't think that's bad for a late round pick.

Re: NL only dynasty league
I should be getting plenty of saves. Steals is my weakness right now. I think I will be competitive in every category except steals. I am planning to be near the top in Saves, HRs, Runs, RBIs and batting average.
We won't know until we are into the season a month or so though. |

Re: NL only dynasty league
I just took Yadier Molina in the 14th. I know it was way too early, but I didn't have a catcher, and he seems like he's spending time learning how to hit. He made a huge stride last year. Now if he can continue that and put up solid production that'll hold me over until I get somebody who can really hit.

Re: NL only dynasty league
Here's how I'm looking now......
C- Russell Martin rd 2 1b- James Loney rd 7 2b- Rickie Weeks rd 5 SS- Hanley Ramirez rd 1 3b- Kevin Kouzmanoff rd 9 IF- Stephen Drew OF- Hunter Pence rd 3 OF- Justin Upton rd 8 OF- Wily Mo Pena Util- Util- SP- Dan Haren rd 4 SP- Chad Billingsley rd 6 RP- Kerry Wood RP- P- Homer Bailey p- Ubaldo Jimenez P-Tom Gorzelanny P- Overall, I'm liking the youth and potential. Hated punting saves, but as usual, closers were just going WAY too high for my liking, so I took more projectable position talent instead. |

Re: NL only dynasty league
This isn't a mixed league where the "bottom" catchers are similar. By the time the 8th-9th catcher comes along, they are going to be part time players or be absolutly horrible. It's important to get at least a starting C before that large dropoff. Unless you plan to get a team pair and platoon, it's probably best to sacrifice the earlier pick for a reliable C. You don't win with the Catcher, but you can lose with one (or lack of one).

Re: NL only dynasty league
Your team will be swept aside by the awesome power of the Atomic Dumpling!
No team led by Reyes, Webb and Harang will be able to withstand the onslaught of my invincible offensive juggernaut.

Re: NL only dynasty league
You need to pick horrible but good players. Pick someone who sucked and might bounce back. Capuano was a good example. Get someone like Ryan Ludwick. Delwyn Young.Dallas McPherson. Jeff Salazar. People like those.
