Your BOLD prediction(s) for the Reds in '08...

These don't necessarily have to be positive (what fun would that be???).

What is/are your BOLD prediction(s) for the Cincinnati Reds franchise for the 2008 campaign? (Can deal with players, management, broadcast, WHATEVER)

I'll say...

Aaron Harang finally reaches the plateau of 20 game winner with the addition of Cordero to the Pen.

The rotation will have four 10 game winners.

Adam Dunn will reach 50 homeruns.

The Reds BEST offensive player by years end will be Edwin Encarnacion.

The Reds will have three of the top 5 candidates for ROY, but will not have the ROY winner.

Harang will lead the league in K's. Cueto and Volquez will be in the top 15 in K's.

Jr. plays in 140 games, and finishes the season 23 HR's behind Mays.

The Reds win the NL Central outright.

Johnny Cueto wins ROY.
The Reds have three pitchers in the all-star game.

Re: Your BOLD prediction(s) for the Reds in '08...

Adam Dunn will hit a career high 48 homeruns and receive a new three year contract with an option for a fourth year.

Edinson Volquez will join Aaron Harang in the 200 strikeout department and become the first Reds duo in franchise history to strikeout 200+ batters in the same season.

Johnny Cueto will win the NL Rookie of the Year after posting an ERA under 3.50 and K/9 around 8.0 in 170 innings.

Jay Bruce and Joey Votto will combine to hit 40 homeruns in their rookie seasons.

Re: Your BOLD prediction(s) for the Reds in '08...

Mike Stanton will blow more games than he should be allowed before finally being let go sometime in mid to late May.

Adam Dunn will hit in the .270s with another 40 HR, 100 RBI, 100 R season, and that still won't be enough for some.

That season gets him 4 years guaranteed, but the Reds overpay at 4/72 plus a mutual option.

The Reds fall just short of the playoffs, but are in it to the last weekend.

Patterson OBs .360. He chalks it up to Dusty's faith in him. :

Re: Your BOLD prediction(s) for the Reds in '08...

Brandon Phillips will join the 40/40 club. No, not that 40/40. The 40 DP and 40 BB club.

Adam Dunn will strikeout less than 150 times while playing in at least 150 games.

Ken Griffey, Jr will be traded before the trade deadline.

Brandon Phillips will win the NL GG @ 2B.

Corey Patterson will OBP North of .350, and OPS in the neighborhood of .800.

Re: Your BOLD prediction(s) for the Reds in '08...

Josh Fogg becomes the new poster boy for Reds starting pitcher futility as he struggles to keep his ERA under 6.50 through May. Some of the most ardent anti-Belisle posters call for Josh to be replaced by Matt.

Corey Patterson manages to get 400 Abs in the leadoff spot despite sporting an OBP lower than .300.

Jay Bruce wins the IL MVP award.

I am completely about the first three predictions and the Reds make the playoffs.

Kent Mercker gets into a fistfight with the Cowboy after Brantley calls the entire bullpen a 'bunch of wussies that are afraid to throw strikes’.

The term 'stat geek' is ruled to be derogatory and its use on Redszone becomes a banish-able offense.

The RZ game threads will be chock full of hyperbole and rash statements.
