I really thought Votto would be the first basemen come opening day.
Its not like Hatte is a bad player, so it isn't the worst thing in the world. And Baker still speaks highly of Votto. |

the lineup doesn't look that bad to me, the only thing i wouldve changed is votto playing instead of hatteberg, but i see the reasoning behind starting hatteberg instead. no complaints here so far.

As much as I dislike Patterson leading off, I can understand it and am willing to give him a shot.
I also like Hatteberg starting. He's a veteran who had a good year last year and a much better spring then Votto whom he was competing against. Votto isn't up on this club to sit on the bench so I'm sure he'll get plenty of time. Dunn batting 5th is what drives me nuts. |
