Re: Dunn traded to DBacks
I can't imagine the state of this board if WK were the GM making this move.

Re: Dunn traded to DBacks
Now I sincerely hope the DBacks meet the Chisox in October. Best wishes to Dunn and Junior and I hope they both get a ring. They'll always be favorites in my heart even if they may not have been destined to be a winner in Cincinnati.

I'm not convinced that holding onto one pitcher disqualifies the Reds from being in rebuilding mode. Reasonable contracts for aces in their primes don't grow on trees.

That kid's birthday is coming up this week, maybe that's it?

Re: Dunn traded to DBacks
In the next month or so, I would like to see an interview with Jocketty or BCast to hear what they say about where this team is going. Because right now, I haven't the foggiest.
The farm system isn't exactly flush with prospects. If there is to be any improvement in the next year or two, it's going to have to be bought. And if they don't intend to buy it and instead grow it, I'd like to know for 2009 season ticket budgeting reasons.

Re: Dunn traded to DBacks
Perhaps you could not be so dramatic and just wait and see what the new GM does with the deck he's been dealt. As has been stated, he does know a thing or two about winning.

Re: Dunn traded to DBacks
I think it's too early to say whether he should be lauded or booed. Perhaps we should wait to see who the PTBNL are?

I don't care about how many months are left on a deal, you don't throw away one of the league's most feared sluggers for a cat with a bum wing and two guys who cannot be named. It's pure bush.
