Re: Beijing Olympics thread

I have a quick question about the Chinese girls. If they end up finding evidence that they're not 16, do we, or the second place team, then get the gold medal?

That would be a travesty. I hate to say it, but the American gymnastics teams have a history of calling sour grapes. If the Chinese team faked their ages, then they should be punished, but that doesn't change the fact that the American girls choked with a capital everything. The performances they put out do not deserve a gold medal whether the competition was 10 or 20 or 70.

Holy cannoli. This only gives further credence to my theory that his insides are just made of machinery.

If that's your opinion, how do you explain them earning a silver? I guess they did not deserve that either.

I say put Michael Phelps in the the Womens swimming. Call him Michelle Phelps. If the other swimmers lose, they deserve it because they did not beat the best swimmer.

Yeesh. I couldn't eat that much a day if I wanted to. Talk about dedication.

Anyways, I heard a rumor that his mother is half Swedish, half Dolphin.

Re: Beijing Olympics thread

I'm watching the gymnastics right now, and these judges are horrible. I'm no expert in gymnastics, but I can tell when somebody screws up. These Chinese girls are making adjustment after adjustment, and still getting high scores.

I'm quite certain that anyone from a current or formerly communist nation gets an automatic .3 point bonus.

When the workers revolt, the judges want to be on the right side of history.

C'mon, give the girls a break, how good at gymnastics were you when you were 12-years-old?

She was clearly the best gymnast on the floor -- her routines down the stretch were virtually flawless.

And I agree with what other people said about the judging -- there were some VERY questionable marks given to the Chinese team.
