Re: Beijing Olympics thread
I have a quick question about the Chinese girls. If they end up finding evidence that they're not 16, do we, or the second place team, then get the gold medal?

Re: Beijing Olympics thread
That would be a travesty. I hate to say it, but the American gymnastics teams have a history of calling sour grapes. If the Chinese team faked their ages, then they should be punished, but that doesn't change the fact that the American girls choked with a capital everything. The performances they put out do not deserve a gold medal whether the competition was 10 or 20 or 70.

Chad Johnson says he can beat Michael Phelps in the pool!

I say put Michael Phelps in the the Womens swimming. Call him Michelle Phelps. If the other swimmers lose, they deserve it because they did not beat the best swimmer. |

Re: Beijing Olympics thread
I'm watching the gymnastics right now, and these judges are horrible. I'm no expert in gymnastics, but I can tell when somebody screws up. These Chinese girls are making adjustment after adjustment, and still getting high scores.

I'm quite certain that anyone from a current or formerly communist nation gets an automatic .3 point bonus.

When the workers revolt, the judges want to be on the right side of history.

Re: Beijing Olympics thread
She was clearly the best gymnast on the floor -- her routines down the stretch were virtually flawless.
And I agree with what other people said about the judging -- there were some VERY questionable marks given to the Chinese team.
