Re: What am I listening to?

ITune is great....except for No Beatles or AC/DC.

Trouble is....... Gang of Four? NO originals...just live or remakes??

You have every Boomtown Rats song but no "Up All Night"
Great to hear "Banana Republic" again though.

Some Buzzcocks...but not all....a lot of A Different Kind of tension album is missing.

Like the 2nd version of "Angel Eyes" by Roxy Music....way better than the disco version of Manifesto.

No album version of "Love is like Oxygen" by Sweet...better and longer than the original.

"Cuban Slide" by the Pretenders...great song...finally found it here.

Re: What am I listening to?

I've been listening to RoadRunner radio on the internet at work. Mostly oldies and retro-active (mostly 80's new wave) - pretty good selection.

Ray Charles with the Count Basie Orchestra, a few tracks recorded in 1973 and re-released in 2006. Pretty good stuff.

Me either. Otis and Sam Cooke. I don't know that vocally, it gets any smoother than those 2 guys.

Re: What am I listening to?

A couple of bands I've been listening to the last couple of weeks:
1. Fleet Foxes - Self Titled, A good indie folk vibe. I like it.
2. Sigur Rios - Med sud i eyrum vid spilum endaluast, Their newest album. I've listened to them for awhile. Their latest is mellow and melodic. They are Icelandic, which makes them cool on its own.

Anyone else had some good new music spark their ears lately?

Re: What am I listening to?

A band I just discovered: Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers

They play some really great stuff, and they're mostly a soft rock band with a slight touch of folk and country. I'm listening to both their latest album - Glassjaw Boxer, which was released just a few months ago - and their self-titled album they released in 2005.

Re: What am I listening to?

Saw Richard Thompson live on Monday. I'd heard of him, of course, but hadn't paid much attention. Man, he is one talented picker.
