Re: Top 5: Movies for Halloween

What about kid friendly halloween movies?

I'd recommend Something Wicked This Way Comes, Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (admit it, the boat scene and the Oompa Loompas are creepy), The Wizard of Oz, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Hocus Pocus.

Re: Top 5: Movies for Halloween

Not a big fan of the genre (especially the torture-fests of the last few years) so I lean toward tongue-in-cheekeries:

1. Evil Dead II

2. Dawn of the Dead

3. Return of the Living Dead.

4. Tremors

5. Bride of Frankenstein

However, the two movies that scared the bejesus out of me are Jaws and the Exorcist. This is probably a reflection of my age when they came out. I mean Race with the Devil with Warren Oats and Loretta Switt, and Trilogy of Terror with Karen Black also scared me witless.

The Omen movies I find frankly ridicilous.

Some honorable mentions: Evil Dead, Q, Basket Case, Re-animator, Captain Kronos, Day of the Triffids, the Invisible Man (with Claude Rains).
