100 IP reliever, dying in front of us
I saw this, Marlins reliever Scott Proctor out for season after 'Tommy John' surgery.
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/b...,1600657.story Proctor was the last relief pitcher to throw 100 IP and not start a game, a thing that used to be pretty common. Since the game began 335 guys have done it, since 2000 only 6 guys have done it (Sullivan did it twice) or 1.8% of the list. Currently Lance Cormier leads MLB in IP for relievers, on pace for about 120 IP. Will he make it? Will DJ Carrasco top 100 (he has 20 IP) ? Or will their innings get spread out as the summer goes on? |
