Re: Buerhle pitches perfect game!

I wish the Red Sox had a pitcher who could get 3 Rays out in a row, never mind 27 of them.

I just did a search to see who it was who convinced me years ago that Buehrle could be a HOFer. It was Steel.

Didn't a guy named Ryan pitch about a half-dozen of them?

Correction: two no-hitters including a perfect game. Sorry about that.

Wow...what a feat. Wish I had watched it.

Wow, what a catch by Wise and what a great game for Buerhle! That's incredible and I'm sure the Baseball Tonight guys will be all over it. When history like this happens, they usually cover it....well, at least for a little while, LOL

Re: Buerhle pitches perfect game!

This is so weird.

I was in Chicago last week for business and had the family with me. I took my son to U.S. Cellular Field on Saturday to watch Buerhle pitch against the Orioles. He looked solid, by the way, pitching into the 8th inning of a 1-run win for the Sox.

The thing that was so ironic was that Wise was booed mightily througout the game by the home fans. I think he finally got a hit in his last time up, but the crowd was decidedly anti-Dewayne on that afternoon.

Good job to both men. U.S. Cellular is a great place to watch a ballgame, IMO.

I wonder how many no-nos and perfect games were on a getaway day?

I'd venture to guess a large percentage in the airplane age.

Re: Buerhle pitches perfect game!

The thing that made the Wise catch so great was that he made the leaping catch off a full sprint. He didn't have time to set himself near the wall.

Spectacular!!
