With the JHj deal, the dream left side of the field is gone.

*sigh*

We need to find out what we gave up.

I hear ya, but it's just for next year. So it's not a serious commitment, and well, the young pitching are going to need all the defensive help they can get.

I like Rolen a lot, but I don't think we're going to win this year regardless with him. Hopefully we didn't pay too high a price.

I agree. With Rolen, what use do the Reds have for EdE's salary or roster spot?

He'll probably throw his back out hauling his luggage and never suit up.

If Rolen is headed here, there's no place for EdE anyway in the long-term, so he might as well be the principle in the deal. Rolen's still a professional at 3B, but it smacks of the fact that Walt is such a backward looking GM, with precious little innovation. Now let's see the return.

Maybe the player from the Yankees tipped the scales. Wait and see for me as well....

Re: Heyman says Rolen to the Reds

Need to know the return ... and this darn well better be only one of a series of significant moves between now and Opening Day 2010, otherwise it's a wasted move.

Re: Heyman says Rolen to the Reds

Reynolds made it sound like EE wasn't part of the deal.

Re: Heyman says Rolen to the Reds

With the Reds injury history this year, over under on when his back explodes?
