Organizational Leaders (final 2009)
I'll do these piecemeal, here and there.
The qualifying minimums are arbitrary, based, I guess, on what I'd expect a semi-regular to have in a short-season schedule. OPS (150 PA) 1. Kevin Barker (Lou) 927 2. Chris Heisey (Car, Lou) 900 3. Darnell McDonald (Lou) 888 4. Byron Wiley (Day) 856 5. Drew Sutton (Lou) 852 6. Juan Francisco (Car, Lou) 847 7. Yonder Alonso (Sar, Car) 838 8. Juan Silva (GCL) 833 9. Todd Frazier (Car, Lou) 832 10. Efrain Contreras (Bil) 807 11. Josh Fellhauer (Day) 805 12. Danny Dorn (Lou) 793 13. Chris Richburg (Bil) 775 14. Henry Rodriguez (GCL) 775 15. Humberto Sosa (Bil, Day) 767 16. Danny Richar (Lou) 767 17. Cody Puckett (Day, Sar) 762 18. Wes Bankston (Lou) 762 19. Chris Denove (Car, Lou) 758 20. Carlos Mendez (Day) 752 The surprises there, to me, are Barker (over Heisey), Silva, Contreras, Denove (nice for a catcher) and Mendez (lower than I would have thought). |

Sean Henry (Car) 171 14. Danny Dorn (Lou) 163 15. Miguel Rojas (Day) 159 The huge surprise on that list, to me, is Miguel Rojas. For a slick-fielding, allegedly weak-hitting shortstop to finish in the top 15 in the organization in total bases . . . hmm. |

Re: Organizational Leaders (final 2009)
Slugging Pct (150 PA)
1. Kevin Barker (Lou) 551 2. Darnell McDonald (Lou) 539 3. Chris Heisey (Car, Lou) 521 4. Juan Francisco (Car, Lou) 518 5. Todd Frazier (Car, Lou) 481 6. Drew Sutton (Lou) 471 7. Yonder Alonso (Sar, Car) 464 8. Juan Silva (GCL) 462 9. Byron Wiley (Day) 461 10. Danny Dorn (Lou) 457 11. Josh Fellhauer (Day) 453 12. Wes Bankston (Lou) 449 13. Cody Puckett (Day, Sar) 444 14. Danny Richar (Lou) 438 15. Carlos Sanchez (DSL) 437 16. Henry Rodriguez (GCL) 421 17. Humberto Sosa (Bil, Day) 416 18. Efrain Contreras (Bil) 412 19. Chris Denove (Car, Lou) 411 20. Carlos Mendez (Day) 407 21. Sean Henry (Car) 407 22. Tony Brown (Day, Sar) 404 23. Sean Conner (Bil) 402 24. Alexis Oliveras (Bil, Day) 401 25. David Sappelt (Day, Sar) 400 I'm beginning to think that maybe Drew Sutton is a bit underrated as a hitter and useful guy. I mean, he's keeping good company on that list, and most lists. Also evident is the conspicuous lack of power at the lower levels of the organization. Obviously, guys like Juan Duran are still developing it, but nevertheless . . . |

Jason Louwsma (Sar, Car) 69 Anybody surprised that Francisco is only third on the list? Some guys with relatively low strikeout numbers, in no particular order: Miguel Rojas (Day), Miguel Chacoa (DSL), Danny Richar (Lou), Henry Rodriguez (GCL), Samuel Diaz (DSL), Jose Castro (Car), Carlos Mendez (Day) |

Re: Organizational Leaders (final 2009)
The purpose of these posts, incidentally, is to inform the discussion (and the voting) when we begin to make the top-40 (or 50, perhaps) prospect lists.

I just thought we should move this up if we're getting ready to start on the top 40.

Re: Organizational Leaders (final 2009)
For all the slamming he took, Darnell McDonald had one helluva year. Kevin Barker as well.
I know people don't consider either of them prospects...but it's hard to dismiss that kind of production. Those two are littered all over the top end of all those lists.

Re: Organizational Leaders (final 2009)
Here’s the pertinent list missing from all of the above. Ages.
I’ve listed them, alphabetically, as of April 1, 2010. If a guy was born before October 1, his age will be designated with a +, indicating the older half of that grouping. This includes everybody listed among the leaders in any category, plus some subjective entries. Yonder Alonso 22+ Junior Arias 18 James Avery 25+ Tucker Barnhardt 19 Mike Bohana 24 Theodis Bowe 19+ Andrew Bowman 24 Tony Brown 22 Alex Buchholz 22 Dallas Buck 25 Wilkin Castillo 25+ Oscar Castro 21 Scott Carroll 25 Miguel Chacoa 21 Stephen Chapman 24 Tzu-Kai Chiu 22 Mitchell Clarke 19+ Tyler Cline 19+ Kevin Coddington 22+ Sean Conner 22+ Efrain Contreras 23 Daniel Corcino 19+ Zack Cozart 24+ Tim Crabbe 22 Shaun Cumberland 25+ Kyle Day 23+ Enerio Del Rosario 24 Chris Denove 27 Samuel Diaz 19 Danny Dorn 25+ Nathan Driessen 18+ Juan Duran 18+ Matt Fairel 22+ Josh Fellhauer 22 Mark Fleury 21+ Juan Francisco 22+ Todd Frazier 24 Justin Freeman 23 Scott Gaffney 24 Ronald Galindez 19+ Bryan Gardner 23 Starlin Gerson 21+ D.D. Gregorius 20 Aguido Gonzalez 23+ Ismael Guillon 18 Billy Hamilton 19+ Chris Heisey 25 Sean Henry 24+ Evan Hildenbrandt 21 Jeremy Horst 24 Jordan Hotchkiss 23+ Ezequiel Infante 21+ Jacob Johnson 19+ Donnie Joseph 22 Ben Jukich 27 Matt Klinker 25 Joe Krebs 25+ Sam Lecure 25+ Yimmy Lopez 17+ Kyle Lotzkar 20 Derrik Lutz 24+ Matt Maloney 26 Luis Machuca 22 Trey Manz 22+ Jose Marizan 21+ Andrew Means 23+ Carlos Mendez 23+ Devin Mesoraco 21+ Marcos Molino 24+ J.R.
