Bio: Josh Beal comes from a baseball family and attended high school in Owasso, Oklahoma. He is the grandson of former St. Louis Cardinal Bob Blaylock (whose promising career was shortened by a rotator cuff injury). In addition to Blaylock, he is related to Cardinals' first round draft pick Pete Kozma and Angels 2006 14th round draft pick Chris Armstrong, who is currently in rookie ball.

Josh Beal endured a three-game stretch in which he allowed six earned runs and five walks over three innings. He picked up a save yesterday, so hopefully he's back on track.

Since Beal just made his 2009 debut (two innings of shutout relief), I thought this would be a good time to bump this up. Josh has already done much more than what you would expect out of a 44th round draft pick. Keep it up, Josh!

I believe at least one of them is family. The picture is from a couple years ago, so I'm guessing they look a bit less goofy now.

I just made an interesting observation. Josh Beal is the youngest player in the entire Reds organization who has played in AA or higher.
