Re: 2010 Winter Olympics Thread
They needed two goalies. It wasn't his fault. It was a complete bombardment.
Playing a little defense, maybe dropping down to block a shot or two might've helped a little.

Re: 2010 Winter Olympics Thread
BTW when I say the should have removed the goalie I mean to save his rear, the rest of the Russian team left him hanging, at least his defense.

I think Tretiak in his prime might have had trouble with Canada tonight.

Listening to The Story on WVXU, an NPR program which interviews folks with some unique story. Some of today's show is about Katie Uhlaender, the daughter of the late former Red, Ted Uehlander. She competed in the skeleton event, but finished out medal contention. Touching story. The link for the radio interview doesn't seem to be up yet. Here's the story itself.

Re: 2010 Winter Olympics Thread
Does anyone think that the Canadian women's hockey coach looks like Larry Bird?

Re: 2010 Winter Olympics Thread
That was one of the BEST final flights of ladies long programs that I have ever seen in a competition. No falls, few small errors, and everyone seemed to skate with a lot of heart. Absolutely beautiful and I totally agree with the podium (although I don't think the gold medalist was 28 points better than the rest of the field). I'm so happy for Joannie to win the bronze and I'm sure her mom is smiling down on her even more now.
Four more medals for team USA today! Two medals in Nordic Combined, a gold and a silver, which brings their total to four overall in the Nordic Combined events (!!), one in the men's arials which is SO COOL to watch (silver for "Speedy" Peterson), and the US women win the silver in ladies hockey. Not a bad day overall!

When will Jamaica's medal drought end? I really had high hopes for their bobsleigh team this year.
