Re: League of Reds Nation -- the ultimate dynasty

3.3 Joey Votto

Perhaps a round early based on past performance, but I think he will post much bigger power numbers this season and in the future. And I'm almost certain he will continue to hit for average. Besides, I was going to take Zimmerman so I had to go with plan B.

I think you took him at the right time. I even considered taking him despite having Pujols. In the end, I didn't think it was worth doing at the expense of letting a premium position slip away, but nonetheless it was the right time to take him IMHO.

I'm glad to have some validation. Fangraphs agrees with me, too. I think you made an excellent pick with Zimmerman.

Yeah I'm actually glad Reynolds got taken. He's clearly the more glamorous pick of the two, but I was trying to talk myself into taking Zimmerman instead, if both were available, because I think he's (seemingly) in the process of taking his game to another level. I think Zimmerman is someone that will be very reliable for the next several years.

3.4 Brian McCann

Premium position, age 26, and top tier. I really wanted CC here but I have a hard time every year making myself draft pitching...

Presenting the first trade of the season:

HayPay has traded David Wright to Atomic Dumpling for Alex Rodriguez.

The two players were drafted consecutively. David Wright was selected with the 2.6 pick and A-Rod was taken with the 2.7 pick. We were discussing our selections and decided to make the swap.

Re: League of Reds Nation -- the ultimate dynasty

I'm not sure I understand the trade rules. The 2 managers just make the trade and then we decide whether we want to protest after it's already been done? I obviously wouldn't have a problem with the A-Rod/Wright trade and wouldn't suspect cheating/collusion but shouldn't we have at least a 1-day review period so that Yahoo just didn't make the switch and then have to switch back if there is a problem?

Re: League of Reds Nation -- the ultimate dynasty

I texted HayPay to let him know his turn was up. He called back immediately and asked me to post his pick as:

3.7 Clayton Kershaw

Vada Pinson Fan is now on the clock with pick 3.8!
