You know the Apple in Centerfield for the Mets?

who thinks that we should have something similar? Maybe a Giant flying Pig that comes out and Oinks when the Reds hit a homerun?

You mean like a large riverboat/partydeck, and smokestacks that shoot fireworks?

Point of my post is we have enough gimmicks out there in CF.

How about when we get a strike out the home plate explodes and makes it rain?

Am I the only one that thinks the "Big Apple" thing is lame, tacky, and stupid? I know they brought it from the old stadium, but I thought the same thing then. It's just weird how it pops up when they hit a home run.

I don't know, I'm indifferent about it and don't really care what they have, but I just think it's kind of weird, that's all.

Honestly I love goofy things like that. They are timeless. I still wished the Mr. Reds race was the crappy one from Riverfront. Some things shouldnt change. That and the big red smokey animation. Seriously those are so awesome.

I think it's weird too. You would think it would at least spin or do something. It seems pretty pointless to me.

That is actually a NEW apple in centerfield. The old apple is outside the stadium as you enter. I was there on Tuesday when we were shut down by Johan.
It is amazing how much more it costs to go to a game in NY vs. Cincinnati.

NYC is the Big Apple, so they have a big apple.

Cincy is the Queen City, so we should have an enormous crown that pops out to celebrate HRs.

Re: You know the Apple in Centerfield for the Mets?

The Durham Bulls used to have an old guy that came to every game for years and years, would get up and make his way up the stairs to make the Bull snort smoke for homers. He got paid only in beer from what I always heard.

The Reds were just found to be the best deal in pro sports concession wise.
