Paranormal Activity 2
Went to the midnight release last night. Not many movies really scare me but that did a good job. So much better than the first but I recommend that you watch the first one before you watch the 2nd one.

I thought the first one was really, for lack of a better word...stupid, so are you willing to state your reputation on the claim that this one is 'So much better' than the first?

I think the first one was a throwback to tension-filled, scary movies that don't rely on "shocking" gore or a lot of startling jump-scares. Yes, it was a slow burn, but I think it worked very well. I'm going to see the sequel next week, and I have high hopes.

watched the first one with my wife. we couldn't stop laughing. great comedy.
Blair Witch was scary. PA was almost a parody of it.

I thought the first was pretty good until about half way through, when we started seeing way, way, way, way, way too much. It was like it had tried to stuff good parts of Evil Dead, The Fog, The Omen and The Exorcist into the last bit of the movie, taking it from a very eerie movie that was pretty original in the beginning, turning it into a standard horror flick full of predictability.

The first one wasn't too bad, suffered from the same thing Blair Witch suffered from ... if you saw it after it was hyped beyond belief you were bound to be disappointed.

I watched the first one yesterday. I didn't care for it. The first scare didn't happen until almost the end of the movie. I must be desensitized.
The amateur camera thing makes me a little nauseous. I couldn't watch Blair Witch because of that. |
