Warner Brothers wants Zemeckis to helm remake of...

...The Wizard of Oz. Direct from the original script. Have they no souls?

I thought for sure you were going to say "A Christmas Story." Whew!

Honestly, I have little emotional attachment to the Wizard of Oz. It's been re-imagined at least 3 times in my lifetime that I know of. I'm sure Hollywood types have grand visions of what the original could be if it incorporated modern CGI and motion-capture techniques.

This movie has been done at least 8 times, why not another? Zemeckis is a pretty good director if he has a good story.

Robin Williams as the Wizard? Is my guess.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the Lion.

Jackie Chan as the Scarecrow

Crispin Glover as the Tin Man.

Shoot, give the script to Michael Bay and tell him to have at it. The original didn't have enough gratuitous explosions.

I bet Tim Burton and Jonny Depp would like a shot.

Re: Warner Brothers wants Zemeckis to helm remake of...

Not that I'm at all for a remake of Wizard of Oz but I'm not sure I can think of anyone better suited for the role than Zemeckis. 10-15 years ago, I would have said Tim Burton but after seeing Alice in Wonderland, no thanks.

I think Zemeckis' resume speaks for itself when it comes to the tone and imagination that comes with the territory of re-imagining Oz.

Will Miley Cyrus play Dorothy or could Lindsey Lohan sneak into the role?

Why not redo the "Mona Lisa"?

Many have tried. This will probably be just as successful as those attempts (at least it has to be better than the The Wiz).
