Frazier Is Ready for Fresh Start in 2011

As the entire team's offense struggled, Frazier's lack of production was particularly noticeable -- he was batting .197 through May -- since he came into the year rated the No. 1 prospect in the organization by Baseball America.

"The first two months was something I had never been through before," Frazier said. "At first, I really didn't know what to do. You get to talking with some people and picking some brains about the situation and how to get through it, and it gets a lot better."

I think he has a Miguel Cairo floor and a Mark DeRosa ceiling.

I disagree. I still think his bad season is just a fluke and he'll be a really good regular. The worse he'll be is a great clubhouse guy (which he already is)

Left field?

He may not hit 35 bombs a year, but could hit around 25 I think. I think his clubhouse presence will make up for his bad defense

I'd say DeRosa is a pretty good comparison.

I would imagine he's at least average in left

I still say he'll be Mike Lowell esque in his career and at 3rd base.

I too see him at 3B. The move to LF last year made sense in that Francisco needed to play 3B, there were few, if any, players within the organization that profiled at LF, and Rolen was at 3B for the next three years.

One year later....Even with improvement in his plate discipline, JF's ability to play 3B is still in question. Rolen's need for a backup who can start at least twice a week has become evident.

The Rolen backup role is being filled in the near term by Cairo. With a good start, I could see Frazier moving into that role and eventually taking over as a starter at 3B. Frazier could also see taxi squad duty if Rolen is required to go to the DL.

Agree.

In fact, since the "average" Left-Fielder in baseball is actually not a good defensive fielder, I would think that he'd instantly be a Top-10 Left Fielder Defensively.
