All one need do is look at the 1999 season. One win anywhere else in the season and we would have made the playoffs. One win and that weekend in Milwaukee would not have mattered. Every win is important.

Re: Setting the Tone

Fun fact of the day. The reds won world series titles in 1919, 1940, 1975, 1976 and 1990.

In all 5 of those seasons...they started out 3-0. One of those things that makes you go "hmmmmm".

What I mean is that it really isn't any more meaningful than any other game.

Baseaball is not really a momentum sport. Large loses are often followed by large wins, and vice versa.

I do disagree with this, it gives us a three game head start over our, at least what many think, main competitor. That is pretty great.

True -- but you get to 90 / 95 however you can.

Yeah, I knew what you meant. There was no REAL psychological edge. Just another win.

We could use them as lawn ornaments. Like yard gnomes. :O)

Sure going up 3 games over the Brewers is grat, but since gong wire to wire is so rare, you can assume at some stage of the seasion someone will catch us.

Every game at this stage is just as important as any other. Really no more or no less.

Thanks. Musial Bobblehead. Awesome!

Just to make you jealous, sitting in Jack Buck's old seats Sunday.

Yeah, this is the first Stan Musial bobblehead ever given out at a game. The bobbleheads given at the games are good quality. On Saturday is the Red Shoendienst replica statue, those are nice too.

Exactly, it's great to get off to a good start, but the baseball season is long. So much can happen throughout the season. I tip my hat to the Reds for getting off to a good start though.

It actually is more meaningful than some other games because its against a team we are directly competing against. A win for us is a guaranteed loss for them. A win against the Braves doesn't mean the same for us winning our division. To top it off, this was a win against a team that is supposed to be key competition against us. And then of course is the fact that todays win was a two game swing over them. If we lost, we only have 1 game up on them, but because we won, we are 3 games up on them.
