Any Musicians on the Forum?

As a musician myself, I was curious to see if there were any other music men/women on the forum. Maybe we could share some of our music together???

Re: Any Musicians on the Forum?

Guitarist here. Been playing in bands for about the last decade. The latter half of that decade with my band, Auburndale, a rock band here in Dayton. We did a lot of touring in our earlier days, but now that we're approaching our 30's, we're more about having fun and writing music we love than having the illusions of grandeur.

Our newest album, Alive in a Dying City, is available on all the major music outlets (itunes, amazon, rhapsody, etc.), if anyone wants to purchase it.

If you'd just like to hear it, here's a link to a stream of the album:

I'm an Irish musician, whistle and wooden flute. I played in a band for a few years, now limited to the occasional solo gig and playing at church.

I haven't seen him post here much lately, but "Wally Post" is a for real professional musician; I believe he plays drums in Joan Armtrading's touring band.

I think he does studio stuff in NYC as well.

Musician here. I'm classically trained as a singer and french horn player but oddly enough I don't really enjoy classical music as an audience member (even though I love performing it). My tastes are pretty eclectic and I'm always looking for something new.

The only way I can play music is by pushing play on a cd player/mp3 player.

Re: Any Musicians on the Forum?

I'm a decent singer. My late uncle was a professional country singer and actually had a song that made the Cashbox Top 100 Country chart and a few songs in the Independent Country Top 40. I also have a cousin who's a semi-professional musician and an author who just had his first book published. Author Steve Alten was nice enough to give a good review to put on the cover.

Re: Any Musicians on the Forum?

Guitarist here. I taught myself how to play and just recently got into my first band. We're called the Country Club Commando's, and we're from Champaign County, Woodstock and Mechanicsburg. We are a cover band right now, but are thinking about writing some originals soon. We're actually playing at the Champaign County Fairgrounds June 25th for a Memorial Concert for our friend who committed suicide, and it's a memorial for him/suicide awareness event.

We've played a few local bars around us, and once in Hilliard at the V.I.P. opening up for New Mania.

I may drop in on ya on that 25th SCR, I'll try to remember to get out assuming work doesn't get in the way, working 3rd shift right now.

Re: Any Musicians on the Forum?

I manage my cousin's band, check out my favorite of their tunes: http://theinstant.bandcamp.com/track/96-lbs-single

If you get a chance listen to the rest of their singles, I'm looking for feedback on which songs to market the hardest!
