I believe it. It's been really hot out here lately. Luckily we had a night game Friday night and it was perfect weather.

Tomorrow we start at 1pm and have back to back games. Mid 90's. Ugh!

Uh, double headers in 95 degree weather is not a good idea.

First of all, we lost both games.

The first one was a pitchers duel and even with the heat, was a lot of fun.

They won 4-3. Our best pitcher v. their best. It was that guy throwing in the 90s with movement. I got beaned on the pinky trying to bunt but I got pretty lucky as it's not broken. I stayed in and grounded out that at bat.

I went 0-3 with 1 strike out, a ground out and a fly out to left in the first game.

In the 2nd game we lost 17-5. I guess that was payback for friday night. Our pitcher was not finding the zone and gave up 13 runs in 5 innings. Haha. Another guy came in to pitch and was throwing knuckleballs. He had a lot of luck until the 7th... they loaded up the bases and #7 hit a Grand Slam. First home run of the year for either team. It was pretty sweet, actually.

I went 0-3 (with a walk) in this game as well but smashed the ball twice. One went to the wall and the other to deep right. I am swinging a lot better now. Just took me a few AB's to get it back.

Played at 3rd for the first game. Played 2nd in game #2.

So... total stats so far 0-8, 3 walks. However, mighty fine defense by yours truly.

Sadly, besides golf and some volleyball it's about your only option in Columbus for organized adult sports.

When I lived in Georgia I played tennis four nights a week, in Columbus it would cost me $100-$150 a month to play in a USTA league one day a week. I'd rather do other things besides softball, but I'll take it over nothing.
