Phipps named to Southern League Post-Season All-Star team
Denis Phipps is the Carolina Mudcats' lone member that was named to the Southern League's Post-Season team. Phipps hit .328 in 82 games for the Mudcats.

Maybe it's due to saturation at first base, but I'm a bit shocked at the lack of Soto.

He was beat out by the Diamondback's Paul Goldschmidt. He hit 30 bombs with 94 RBI in 103 games with a .306 average. So it was well-deserving.

Congrats to Denis. This guy is one of the better stories of the Reds minor league system this season.
