Reds sign Clayton Tanner, assign him to AAA
I have not officially seen that this is a waiver claim, but the Giants DFA'ed Clayton Tanner a few days ago, and he is now showing up on the Bats roster, so it seems likely. He is a 23 year old starter with a 4.30 ERA in AA this season. Seems like he is still a semi-prospect.

Seems like a nice signing. He's apparently from Australia and was young for his first few leagues, but very much held his own. He has kind of leveled out over two years in the Eastern League, but hasn't really regressed. Plus, he's a lefty.

The Reds have signed Clayton Tanner and assigned him to their Triple-A affiliate according to the International League transactions page. The 23-year-old left-hander was released by the Giants earlier this week after posting a 4.29 ERA in 119 2/3 innings in Double-A. |
