How often do multiplayer mega deals actually happen?

Votto (rising stud), Stubbs (former #1 pick), Bailey (former #1 pick), Volquez (former cy young candidate) for Alvarez (young), Drabek (unproven), Bautista (older than most).

2B Phillips
SS Cozart
1B Alonso
LF Bautista
CF Heisey
RF Bruce
3B Francisco/Rolen
C Hanigan/Mez

Potential to get 20+ HR's out of 7 of those positions.

Cueto
Alvarez (cheap)
Leake (cheap)
Arroyo
Drabek (cheap)
This is probably a pretty reasonable trade for both sides with a few minor tweaks. I'm not that high on Volquez, as he reminds me of Alvarez without the plus command/control. Stubbs is solid but we already have a ton of outfield depth.

In the end, a lot of the posters here are probably right, almost any move would have to involve Bautista and Votto which would be a lateral move. As long as you guys are in win now mode I'm thinking a prospect package alone won't get it done no matter how good the package.

Maybe in 2013 when Votto's closer to free agency we could revisit. Remember that Adrian Gonzalez got the Padres Rizzo, Kelly, and Fuentes, the former two being super overrated as far as I'm concerned.

As far as a pure prospect package I think this would beat the Gonzalez one.

Votto for Morrow, Drabek, Thames, Marisnick, Hechavarria.

That is one major league starter with two more Arby's years, our top pitching prospect from last year controllable for six more years, a decent left fielder with power controllable for five, our second best prospect, and our 12th best prospect and a shortstop.

OR

Morrow, Drabek, flip our top prospect, C. D'Arnaud to Colorado for 3b Nolan Arenado, and Marisnick (our second best prospect) Hechavarria.

You guys get two starters a third baseman and a five tool outfielder, and a shortstop of the future.

Mind you, most Blue Jays Fans would call this an extreme overpayment on our part.

Re: Trade Proposal: Toronto & Cincinnati

Alonso
Stubbs
Broxberger

for:

Shields

Or:

Votto
Bailey / Volquez
Wood

for

Trout
Trumbo
Aybar

Then we need to sign David Dejeus and fire Dusty! Which would put us at:

C - Hanigan, Mesoraco
1B - Trumbo
2B - Phillips, Frazier
SS - Aybar, Cueto
3B - Rolen, Francisco
LF - DeJesus
CF - Trout, Heisey
RF - Bruce
