Keith Law rates Reds farm system at #19

it's an insider article, but thought you may like to know. he rates the Cardinals as #4. doesn't that seem high???

On Blazing Fastball we ranked the Cardinals at #5 and the Reds at #24. Obviously the Reds would have been ranked much better if they had not traded Alonso, Grandal, Boxberger, Torreyes and Sappelt.

The Cardinals would have been #3 if the Padres and Athletics had not made trades that garnered them lots of extra top prospects this winter. The Cardinals are loaded with some excellent young pitchers in the minors, including Shelby Miller who we have ranked as the 2nd-best pitching prospect behind only Matt Moore of the Rays.

I think our list will look a lot better in July, as many of our top prospects were A/AA last year. Hamilton, Soto, Stephenson, Corcino, and IMO Rodriguez could all be top 100 prospects by midseason.
