If that is what the 2012 edition of the Cincinnati Reds plays like most nights they are going to pile up the wins.

He is now known as the reliever formerly known as Leo Nunez. Or maybe he goes by Fausto Carmona?
Haha... his real name is actually Juan (Carlos) Oviedo. FTR, "Fausto Carmona" is actually Roberto (Hernandez) Heridia.

What an awesome day!

Hard to believe, but this was the first Opening Day I'd ever been to...so much fun!

The Reds went up 1-0, and I never even thought they would lose. That's the confidence I have in this pitching staff, and team as a whole.

There are 161 left.

Well the cell phone service was crap-the only bad thing about the game. This was my view from my seat in the Sun Deck!

Before today's gem, I wonder...when was the last time the Reds won the opener by shutout? Who pitched?

Oh, I also performed a good deed for the day... When I got up in the B7 and went to the restroom behind the Sun Deck, a lady left her cellphone on the top of one of the towel dispensers. Waited about 10 minutes then left a note w/the time, cell description and that I was going to drop off the phone at the lost & found. Hopefully she remembered, saw the sign and retrieved the phone.

Be interesting to find out... Most of what I remember about the Opening Days I went to were the blowouts by the visiting team.

I just read the answer...Frank Pastore and the 1980 Reds beat Atlanta and Phil Niekro 9-0.

Hey, thanks Bob. No problem, Bob.

If you talking about pitching, well then we go 162-0 with a 0.00 ERA. If you talking about hitting, I'm less excited. 1-10 with RISP. Sounds like last years team redux.

And Jim Scott on WLW gave you a shout-out after the 5am news!

Playing out his new contract with the REDS, Votto hasa good chance of topping this list.

Bruce would need another extension, IMO.

Good pitching, timely hitting, leads to a 4-0 shut-out by the Reds. Life is good!

Re: Opening Day 2012 April 5- Miami Marlins @ Reds

The entire Reds organization (from Dayton to the Reds/5 teams) went 5-0, beating their opponents by a combined score of 21-6.

Pitching:
5-0
45 IP
29 H
6 R
3 ER
14 BB
49 K
.60 ERA

Pretty impressive.
