After a fabulous season last year in Dayton, Drew Hayes is so far struggling with his skip-a-league promotion to Pensacola. Tonight he took over in the ninth inning of a 2-2 game and walked the first man, who went to second on a fielder's choice, went to third on a wild pitch and scored the game-winner on a sacrifice fly.

A foul ball sac fly. That's weird. I always thought you let those drop if they were deep enough to score the run. Live and learn, I suppose.

Here is a little oddity from the newspaper account.

Eaton set up the inning by drawing a leadoff walk and beating Hayes' throw to second on a fielder's-choice sacrifice bunt by David Nick. Hayes intentionally walked Matt Davidson and got Marc Krauss swinging for the first out with Pensacola putting six fielders on the infield.
