No. But I expected at least one "if" to pan out. But was it a good plan from an experienced GM?

I'm frustrated but not surprised.

I'm sorry if it disturbs you that some of us express these feelings on a Reds message board.

If we now are to have folks overseeing our comments and criticizing posters for expressing their frustration, maybe it's time to go someplace else to discuss Reds baseball.
And so am I. And I have long been a proponent of freedom of speech on here and always will be. I just have a hard time singling out players when the whole team is stinking up the joint. And those comments on Twitter were uncalled for. Just like this team's play.

No one on the team is hitting. We don't even know that the "ifs" are the problem or not because no one is getting it done. And I still think Ludwick could be decent. Maybe I'm completely wrong.

Re: 4/18/12 - Ok, seriously...let's win a game.

Tyler Greene makes it 10-1. Bill Bray should accompany Stubbs to Kentucky for a few weeks. Now 11-1.

Let's not put all the blame on the ifs. At least they were ifs - guys who had question marks next to their names.

How about Jay Bruce? He's not an if yet his numbers are microscopic. How about Mat Latos? Not an if, yet doing nothing. Bill Bray wasn't an if, and he's a batting tee right now.

No, this is an "all in" failure. It's the ifs, the maybes, and the yesses.

Votto and Cueto are good though.

All things considered, I'm happy with the game so far. If the Reds were up 11-1 in the 8th against the Cards, you know the Cards would just rally and win 12-11.

This simply saved me the last minute heartache.

Thanks for being so considerate Reds

Oh, I agree. It's just that he is so bad right now. Of course last night was a one run game, but he is not ready for prime time.

That is what I mean he can throw as much as he wants in a game like this. Figure it out. I don't want to see him in tight spots for a long time.

This is actually a best case scenario--some heavy losing early will get Dusty out the door. Then the Reds have a chance. The ceiling with Dusty, if many on the team have career years, is a three-and-out playoff team. A good manager in the playoffs will wipe him out strategically, and you know he will not have the club mentally ready to play playoff baseball. I actually think some good may come of all this.

Re: 4/18/12 - Ok, seriously...let's win a game.

We're less than a month in to the season. It's natural to complain a bit when things don't go well for the Reds, but this is WAY beyond "not going well." This offense is in the basement. Not just in the NL, but in all of baseball. It's pathetic and something MUST be done to shake things up.

I feel a right to complain. While it may not change things it's definitely deserved.

Agreed. Most games, the pitching has been very good, but the Reds didn't hit. Tonight we didn't pitch or hit and the result is what it is.

Re: 4/18/12 - Ok, seriously...let's win a game.

Wild prediction: As an observer of the game and its trends, this is the game where the Cards hit their peak in a hot streak, the Reds hit the trough in their downturn. Things will start to level out from here for both squads.

As the luck of the draw would have it, we get back to back series to start the season with a team experiencing an unsustainable hot streak at the same time we're having a unsustainable team wide hitting slump.

It's tough to start that way because it just sends alarms through the camp, panic buttons are hit, the extreme predictions of doom are made, the critics are running rampant screaming "I told you so, I told you last season, I told you this offseason, I told you this spring, we're doomed, we're all doomed"

Then, there's a game tomorrow, and one after that, and one after that...

Have fun, folks, laugh, don't go off the deep end, this is a good team off to a slow start. It happens, its happened to our team. They will recover.
