Re: Reds vs Rockies 5/26

We enter the game hitting .197 with RISP, and get 7 hits tonight.

I guess the way I see it is if you are going to red light Drew Stubbs because he's hitting in front of Votto then he shouldn't hit in front of Votto. Stubbs is the one guy who needs to have the green light on this team.

Obviously the issue is that Stubbs seems to hit a lot better in front of Votto. I can see both sides.

I'm not sad at all. I'm elated. The more we can save Chapman, Ondrusek and Marshall, the better we become as a team.

To me, I run anyway. If they want to walk Votto, fine. Eventually, that will hurt... bad.

Re: Reds vs Rockies 5/26

Saw the replay of Ludwick's hit last night, and he was waving the bat around...kind of like Phillips.

Has he just started to do that?

With Stubbs on base, distracting the pitcher with the threat of stealing, the more likely Votto is to get a pitch to hit. He needs to be sent as often as possible so that threat is constantly in the minds of the opposing pitchers.

I'd be more afraid that he's distracting Votto.

I'm with New York Red on this.

With Stubbs on 2nd it's a heck of a lot easier for Votto to get him in. If they put two men on base it's a lot easier to have a big inning.

I'm not holding Stubbs back, I know he doesn't get on base a ton, but when he's there he can make a lotta stuff happen for us.

Re: Reds vs Rockies 5/26

Starting to think, or at least hope that Ludwick could be a serviceable part timer this year. Even decent Jonny Gomes production on a part time basis would be okay I guess. A stud LFer would be even better, but we knew he wasn't that.
