Have to give Latos credit there getting out of the inning with only two runs scored. Bases full, no outs, Cabrera and Fielder up, that's one tall order. If Mat can work one more good inning, I'd call this a very successful outing. |

Hopefully the Reds can make some hay against the Tigers bullpen.

Whatever "more than washed-up" means ... that's what Cairo is.

Heisey is acceptable as a backup centerfielder. But he has to show better plate discipline. Guy has only 6 walks all season. He is not a starting centerfielder. |

Interesting part of the game coming up. Chapman has worked two straight games. Marshall seems to have pitched every game this week. Ondrusek doesn't have much going right now.
Now it's a close game. What to do? Latos stays in now, that's fine. I'd guess Arredondo will get an inning. Who closes (hopefully Reds will need to close out a win)? Should be interesting. |

Latos with a pitiful first bunt attempt - foul back. Fouls his second attempt. ball. showed bunt and hacked a foul. Bunt foul strike three.

Nice AB right there by Cozart to draw the walk.

I hate Heisey's approach at the plate. He swung through 2 balls to start that at bat. Should have been ahead 3-0 when he got that last pitch.

We've debated Heisey's defense. Nothing to debate on his offense.
Heisey is hitting about .255 BA. It may be the worst .255 I've ever seen. He never walks, he swings at everything, he stops hitting as soon as he is in the regular lineup. Heisey has me excited that Stubbs may soon be back, believe it or not. |
