Re: Thursday 6/28/2012 Minor League Updates

Henry Rodriguez is rehabbing tonight with the AZL Reds. He's 1-3 with a 2B.

Also, Humberto Valor is in the lineup for the first time this year.

The Reds trail 7-3 after four.

Billings wins it in the 10th, 4-3, on a wild pitch, set up by a double from Sammy Diaz. Nick Routt gets the W with two hitless innings.

Very disappointing outing out of Lotzkar. That's kind of his M.O. though. As soon as you get excited about him, he does something to disappoint. 6 ER in 4.2 IP. ERA now up to 4.21 with Pensacola.

Bakersfield leads 4-3 after seven. Renken has gone the distance so far. Lutz is 2-4 with a triple. D'Anna is 3-3 with a double.

Re: Thursday 6/28/2012 Minor League Updates

The AZL Reds, taking advantage of some unearned runs, have come back to tie the game 7-7 in the eighth.

Henry Rodriguez was removed after 3 AB. Hopefully, that was the plan.

Renken went back out for the eighth, and it cost the lead. It's 4-4 heading to the bottom of the inning.

Brooks Pinckard is a guy I like and pull for, but he's had major difficulties in the California League.

Dominic D'Anna, who started kind of slowly after his long absence, went 4-4 last night. He has also freed Lutz to play LF.

Re: Thursday 6/28/2012 Minor League Updates

AZL Reds won 8-7 in the 10th. Seems like some of the young guys (well, I guess they're all young guys, come to think of it) executed nicely. Still, a couple guys going the other way, a sac bunt, a bases-loaded walk:

Avain Rachal singles on a fly ball to right fielder Jose Pena.
Julio Morillo singles on a ground ball to right fielder Jose Pena. Avain Rachal to 2nd.
Ty Washington out on a sacrifice bunt, first baseman Alan Sharkey to second baseman Jose Sermo. Avain Rachal to 3rd. Julio Morillo to 2nd.
Taylor Mangum intentionally walks Ronald Bueno.
Tanner Rahier walks. Avain Rachal scores. Julio Morillo to 3rd. Ronald Bueno to 2nd.

Abel De Los Santos, who I think might be a pitcher to watch, gave up a one-out triple in the tenth, but wriggled out of it. He threw two scoreless innings.

Lotzkar is like the 2012 Homer Bailey of the minors.

Sulbaran is like the 2008-2011 Homer Bailey of the minors.

Wasn't Homer Bailey the Homer Bailey of the minors in 08 and 09?

This Rachal guy may be a bat worth watching. He's a late rounder, but he's also a high schooler, so there may be more there than previously suspected. Pleasantly surprised by both him and Winker, a couple HS bats coming fast out of the gate. Washington, too.
