Carlos Quentin had the MVP locked with 34 HR and 100 RBI in August a few years back and was injured and missed the rest of the season.

It's so obvious that lack of another one or two left handed bats are this teams achilles heel (to everyone but walt). But I'm starting to think that they just don't have a nose for the finish line.
