Top 3 (excluding Cincinnati)

Bottom 3

1. Phoenix

3. Los Angeles/Anaheim

Dishonerable mentions: St. Louis; Houston

Why? Lefty slap hitters hit flairs off the wall and dump loopers into that huge right field. The left fielder does play in to catch some short flairs, but I certainly don't see it being the worst place for a lefty slap hitter.

You'd be suprised how many people move to San Francisco, then move on to Oakland. As WOY said, the weather's nicer. It's also cheaper and there are a ton of cultural amenities. It's not all trigger-happer cops and black bloc anarchists.

I'm still in SF because I like to walk everywhere but I wouldn't mind Oakland. And both beat The Valley. Yuck.

Fair points. It's tough to generalize about huge metro areas anyway, they all have their good pockets and bad pockets.

Re: Which MLB cities would you live in.....

Beautiful cities
1) Chicago - love the capital of the Midwest
2) San Francisco/Oakland - love the culture of NoCal and PacNW
3) New York - big city

Festering holes
1) Dallas - hate the modern sprawl and bravado of Texas
2) Houston
3) Tampa - not a fan of the heat and concrete of Florida

I didn't realize there was so much hate for Phoenix?

Re: Which MLB cities would you live in.....

I guess it depends on your definition of a *slap* hitter. I don't consider a 310-foot flyball a "flair", but it's a matter of semantics...

I'm not a fan of the desert. There's only one desert town I'd consider: Reno -- an awesome wreck of a city.

Re: Which MLB cities would you live in.....

Since I live in New York, I'll exclude that. It's tough because I'd love to live in Miami, but not during baseball season. The heat is horrendous (no pun intended). Also surprised to see Toronto mentioned by others so many times. Aren't the taxes for Toronto players insane?

Top 3:

San Diego
Seattle
Washington

Bottom 3:

Detroit
Cleveland
Baltimore

I live in St. Louis and I don't get the hate. Yes, you might not like the Cardinals but as a baseball town it's one of the best.
