Friday 7/06/2012 Minor-League Updates

I don't know, there's something about this recent little flurry by Yorman that strikes me as maybe some kind of turnaround. Tonight, he's 2-3 with a HR. We'll see.

Dayton leads 4-3 after seven. Stalin Gerson's line as the starter: 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K. Michael Dennhardt has thrown two perfect innings of relief.

Ryan Wright is 2-2 with a HR.

Early on, Sal Romano is having a Pioneer League kind of night: 2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K. Billings trails 3-1.

In the first inning, Robert Maddox did not hit his fifth home run in three nights.

Nothing could be better news for this farm system than a big second half for Yorman.

Gregorius had a triple, Pearl had a couple good innings of relief, and Partch was summoned much earlier than usual. P-cola leads 5-3 after seven.

Re: Friday 7/06/2012 Minor-League Updates

Brett Tomko made a rehab start tonight for the AZL Reds, and guess what? He's not quite ready: 1.1 IP, 9 H, 8 R, 7 ER, 0 BB, 1 K.

And speaking on rehab, Chris Valaika has a HR. Bet you weren't expecting to hear that.

Reds trail 8-1 after three.

Leadoff single for Billy. Steal # 104. Balk to third. RBI single for Bowe. Very familiar.

Bakersfield leads 1-0 in the second with Sharky Rogers pitching.

Justin Freeman, a hot reliever, nails down the save for Pensacola, 5-3. Partch got the win with two more good innings. The 'Hoos had only five hits, four of them singles.

Winker left the game after two plate appearances.
