Re: Wednesday 7/11/2012 Minor League Updates

The Baby Reds sure are cute. But they don't seem to be able to play baseball very well. They fall to the Mini-Giants 6-5. Five M-G errors kept the game close. Wandy Peralta didn't walk a batter in 3.1 innings of work. That was the good news. He did, however, allow 9 hits and 6 runs, five of them earned. The bullpen came on and worked 5.2 shutout innings. Brayan Arias and Argenis combined for four of the Baby Reds 6 hits.

In a bit of a slump now. Down to .200. The other high school RH hitter of note, Avain Rachal, a 22nd rounder, in the .360s. Both still in their infancy, but so far you'd have thought the results would have been reversed.

Rachal could be a sleeper in this draft class. Was listed as a pitcher on draft day, but has been looking good early on the INF.
