Which minor leaguer would get the call up if the Reds had a starting pitcher injured?
The Reds starting pitching has been a thing of amazement this season, not missing any starts. Almost unfathomable considering what we're used to seeing. In fact, Walt stocked up with Francis and Tomko, just for that reason. Fortunately, they haven't needed to do it. But if they did, who would they go to?
The list of candidates would include Chapman, Hoover, Lecure, Cingrani...... I think they'd give Cingrani the chance if the opportunity arises. Dude has passed all the tests so far. Not saying he won't run into a brick wall at some point. But I think it would be interesting to see Cingrani get the major league call if a starter goes down. What do you think? And again, this is simply for some fun conversation.
